Thursday was moving-out day for the Spotlight nightclub, after its owners were evicted from a downtown building at 441 W. Western Avenue for non-payment of rent.

The first of three defendants has been sentenced in connection with a spree of thefts from vehicles last March in apartment parking lots around the Muskegon area.

The jobless rate in Muskegon County rose to 8.5 percent in June, an increase from 8.3 percent in May and 6.5 percent in April.
